Garden Makeover

>> Monday, April 13, 2009

I always love nature, plants and greeneries. I find them very relaxing. I always dream of coming home from work, walk out of a door that leads to my well landscaped garden. Now that it is busy season and every day is torture with all the pressures of internal and external reports and requirements, wanting for a place of relaxation is growing stronger. And just like me, a friend of mine also wants to have her backyard to be landscaped. She wants a Japanese inspired garden that she saw in one of those gardening magazines. She also wants a Koi pond to be placed in the middle of her garden. She loved Koi fishes, I remember when we were still in grade school, every time our teacher would ask her to draw her dream house, and a pond would always be in the middle of her drawing. As if it would never be complete with out the pond and the school of fishes. Just this morning, I got a call from her, asking me to help her find a San Diego landscaper that could help her transform her backyard to her dream garden. She is asking me for some tips on having a landscaper since she knows that I had them before. I told her that it would be the best to secure a service contract which I think would be beneficial for her and the other party. Improvements for home like landscaping require quite a big sum of money so it is better to get the best one to do the job.

Dine in or outside dining?

>> Wednesday, March 4, 2009

I belong to a very close-knitted family. We have several extended families as well. My grandparents love to throw unplanned dinners and lunches with our relatives. And our clan has one common passion, it is food. No wonder we are somehow larger than the normal size. Recently my grandfather celebrated his 75th birthday. He did not want any big celebration, just a dinner with his siblings and their family. As expected, there was no enough room for the members of the clan. We have expected the dining area at the patio of the house. It was then we realized that we should get new patio furniture. Since the family is growing, there should be additional furniture for dinners and get together like this. What I love about this set is that it could be easily converted into a play table for our card games after the meals or shall I say while waiting for the next meal. It would be great for our coffee and non-stop conversations too. I warn you, our family never runs out of stories and anecdotes. It would also be relaxing for the oldies to sit there while they reminisce about their childhood days and memories (they always do that when they are all together). One thing more, it is a wicker furniture so it is expected to be strong enough to endure the weather outdoors. Wicker is expected to be very durable and could last a long time. I think we should get a fire pit too incase the nights would be colder for the oldies.

Dream Bedroom

>> Wednesday, February 18, 2009

I always wished for a Modern Bedroom. But since I still live with my parents, I have to settle on the style that my mom dictates. But still the stubborn and rebel me (sorry mom) I still search for modern bedroom furniture just to satisfy my stubbornness. When I saw the modern bed at Max Furniture I told myself that I should have that! I fell in love with the bed that comes with floating side tables. The illusion of floating side tables would match the reading lamp that I got for Christmas from Aunt Ochie. The color would definitely stand out in my bedroom’s blue paint. It would create the illusion of skies. Nice thing about Max furniture is that they offer tax free shopping. And now that they ship to Canada, I can refer the site to Kuya so he could get great priced furniture for his planned house renovation this year. I’m sure he would love the dining table and the armoire for their bedroom. I’m just not sure if his wife would also agree with his choices since his wife also loves modern furniture like me. They also offer interest free financing on their items. And also they got a guaranteed money back offer. It is hassle free and time saving. How I wish mom would permit me to have a bedroom style of my own. But since I am a good and obedient daughter I just have to stick in her style. As they say mother’s knows best so be it.

Easing Your Moving

>> Thursday, January 22, 2009

Moving is for most of us is really a headache. But as the saying says, the only thing constant in life is change. Once in our life we will be moving, some more than once. One of my dear friend moves more than three times last year because of his job. And during his move from one place to another he would always complain on the hassles of moving. And now that he is relocating to a place miles away from his previous home, he is thinking of how to make his moving a breeze. The timing of relocating is bad; his work requires him to work overtime because they have to give more attention on gaining more clients due to the worsening economic crisis. He cannot differ his moving anymore because it would mean more expenses and more time to be wasted. One thing that he also worries is the transfer of some of his bills to his new address. And also he would like to transfer some of his utility accounts like his phone and his broadband connection. Also he is finding a hard time choosing for moving companies. I recommend him moveme.com. This site guarantees to make moving as simple as possible for him. They offer several services for movers like, removal and storage, management and transfer of utilities, planning and other miscellaneous services that may cause headache to movers. They also recommend the best removal companies that one can choose from and is assured that his belongings and properties are safe. Se can ask or arrange what if ever the properties to be moved are insured in case of accidents, like breaking his best china wares or a scratch from his valuable paintings while moving it. I encourage him to consider a removal company since he is just moving a lot of bulky things in his newly purchased house. In moveme.com, he can inquire online for all the services that he needs. They would provide quotations to you online and fast, and since he is too much busy at work, it is very much suitable for him. They usually find the movers that are near to your place so they would be familiar and the risk of getting lost is minimal. I hope I could help him arrange those things but just like him, my office reports are piling up so I really have to work double time. So I just told him to consider moveme.com as my substitute, I just hope he don’t do it very often.
