Keep our Hearts Burning with LOVE

Since it is hearts day, I am trying to compose a nice post. Forgive me for my poor post :)

As an observer most of the time, I saw different love stories unfold before my eyes. Some succeeded, some failed. But then again, when love is present, its presence cannot be denied. I have seen a lot of people fell in love. And most of the time, it brings out a magical and unexplainable aura in one’s face. Maybe because the warmth that comes from the heart gives a different glow.

Love is magical, so we must celebrate its existence. Valentines Day is not only for lovers, as long a person feel the warmth of love, he or she has the reason to celebrate Heart’s Day. Any way we all have hearts that beat, if not we might be dead.

I just wanted to share a thought from a person who has shed me light in the matters of the heart.

Love has no room for selfish people who think only of themselves. If we have been too busy with our work, have been kept by our distorted priorities then it's about time that we stop for a while and think about the people who we might have stepped on and taken for granted. Love isn't forever. Let us not wait too long to appreciate those who have unselfishly given it to us for all that may be left tomorrow are just the bitter and cold memories of someone who loved too much but was never loved enough.

So do not wait for another Valentines Day to let someone know that you love them. Make every day a Valentines Day and don’t wait for occasions to let them feel the warmth of love. No need for flowers, chocolates or fancy dinner. Just appreciation and a sincere “I love you”.

To everyone Happy Valentines Day! Let us keep our hearts burning with love!

Grow old with you

>> Wednesday, July 8, 2009

When Inay undergone a surgery because she broke her hip ball that extends to her right femur last month I saw how the song "Grow Old with you" comes to life.

I wanna make you smile,
Whenever you're sad
(When she was brought to the hospital she did not allow anyone even the doctors to touch her because she was screaming in pain, they have to wait for Itay to able to examine her)

Carry you around when your arthritis is bad
(in his age, Itay is still attempting to carry her when she needs to be carried, although this time he needs reinforcement)

All I want to do, is grow old with you

I'll get your medicine when your tummy aches
(Inay is diabetic and the one giving her insulin doses every morning and evening is Itay. Good thing his eye sight is still good, he can still see the numbers in the insulin syringe)

Build you a fire when the furnace brakes
Oh it could be so nice growing old with you

I'll miss you, kiss you, give you my coat when you are cold
Need you, feed you, even let u hold the remote control

So let me do the dishes in our kitchen sink
Put you to bed when you've had to much to drink

I could be of the man who grows old with you
I wanna grow old with you

On the 27th of December this year they would be celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. It is nice to see that in a span of almost 5 decades of togetherness their love for each other still remains the same.

Love Doctor Pau

>> Saturday, February 21, 2009

I got the role of being a love counselor last night. A very special girlfriend was having a hard time with her boyfriend of one year. I saw her crying at the pantry while talking to May. I knew right there in there that there was a problem but I never thought it would be a heart problem.

She was very hesitant at first to tell me what it is all about. She knew that I never approved of that guy before and until now she knew that I still have reservations for his boyfriend. Maybe she was afraid that I may give biased opinions. But then later she started to tell me and May about it.

I listened to her sentiments, I let her talk and burst out all her hidden emotions. That’s all I could do, listen because I’m not sure if I could give her the right advice that she needs. I’m not confident that I could help her in a way that I should. I understand her sentiments and I think she’s not demanding like what her insensitive boyfriend says. Forgive my words but insensitive is the right words to describe her boyfriend.

I just opt to tell her to talk with her boyfriend heart to heart. I told her that relationships really pass through that phase, even friendship. Sometimes familiarity could breed insensitivity and later on neglect because we became too confident that he or she would just always be there. I told her that it’s about time to renew their commitment to each other, re-orient their selves on what to expect onto each other as girlfriend and boyfriend and what to give in return. Entering into relationship needs constant care and nourishment.

Don’t expect love to be the same as when you first got hold of it, it doesn’t remain constant if you would not take good care of it. If we take it for granted it may find someone that would nourish it and never let it go.

I brought her home after that, I hope I shed some light on her. I hope she and her boyfriend would be okay. I hope I would never see her cry again. Love is really complicated. I really got too much overwhelmed by my role that I forgot I also need one. I was too much busy telling her to get rid of her tears and I forgot that mine are falling too.

Romantic Mood

>> Thursday, February 19, 2009

I was calling a customer's accounting department just this morning and I was surprised to hear their background song. It was a love song. I guess they haven't overcome the Valentine mood! I hoped that the person that would received my call would not answer the phone hurriedly so I can still listen to the song. Here is the lyrics of the song, too romantic.

Standin' by my window
List'nin' for your call
Seems I really miss you after all

Time won't let me
Decide thoughts to myself
I'd just like to let you know
I wish I'd never let you go

And I'll always love you
Deep inside this heart of mine
I do love you
And I'll always need you
And if you ever change your mind
I'll still, I will love you

Wish you'd never left me
But love's a mystery
You can break a heart so easily

The days and nights we knew
How much I feel for you
Time has come for me to see
How much your love has meant to me

And I'll always love you
And if you ever change your mind
I'll still, I will love you

Time, like a river, keeps on rollin' right on by
Nothin' left for me to do
So I watch the river rise

And I'll always love you
Deep inside this heart of mine
I do love you
And I'll always need you
And if you ever change your mind
I'll still, I will
I'll still, I will, love you

Now here's the story

>> Tuesday, February 17, 2009

I'm sorry if the story came late, I was too busy the past few days and I cannot even put updates in my blog. The financial audit would start this week so I have to finish all my reports and schedules. Here is the story. Forgive the single unattached girl for coming up with this hahahaha!

The flowers were not mine... I just hoped it was mine. Ate Dhel and I came up with the idea of putting it in my table and take pictures of it just to make everyone the office curious. And just what we expected, they asked the next day if the flowers are mine and who gave it to me Hahaha! Ate Dhel and I gave out our best laughs. Curiosity...

The flowers are really belongs to Criz, here's the evidence, how sweet! Thanks to her boyfriend Earl :)

But I really got flowers for Valentines, boss gave me this courtesy of our garden. I just hope boss gave me chocolates rather. Nevertheless thanks boss! Can I extend my deadlines?

Thoughts for Valentines

It is Valentines Day! I hope I have a love story to share with you. But sad to say I have been celebrating Valentines Day alone for the past years of my life. I'll just share you some thoughts.

Have you ever been in love? The answers most probably would be yes. Finding love can bring us joy and happiness beyond compare but it may bring misery and unbearable pain for those who lose it. Some are hasty while others are careful in getting into relationships but I think no matter how many precautions we may have it does not guarantee that love would stay once we find it. Most of us may have loved but lost it but remember that I would always be better to have found courage to love even if we lost it in the end rather than never finding love because we were too afraid to face its challenges. Thanks to Joe d’ Mango!

Love is inevitable, no matter how much we avoid it love would always finds it way.

Let the pain remain

>> Saturday, February 7, 2009

I'm sky watching last night while sipping a cup of cappuccino when I heard this song.It got me thinking.

Love comes, love goes,
But a sudden feeling never lets me be
Somehow I know
Quite a part of me isn't changed
Since you've been gone

Like a sturdy tree
That's seen a thousand seasons,
I've to shed my leaves in winter
To grow them back in spring
To welcome life again
To welcome you

So goes my life;
Still believe in dreams of having you around
Too bad mem'ries
Feed the mind and not the heart
Where I want you to be

So I ask myself what you have left behind for me
To go on each day to live
As if I have you once again
What else is there that's real
But all the pain that I feel

Chorus:
So let the pain remain forever in my heart
For ev'ry throb it brings
Is one more moment spent with you
I let the pain
Bring on the rain
If that's the only way
If there's no other way
To be with you again

Too bad mem'ries
Feed the mind and not the heart
Where I want you to be

So I ask myself what you have left behind for me
To go on each day to live
As if I have you once again
What else is there that's real
But all the pain that I feel

Chorus:
So let the pain remain forever in my heart
For ev'ry throb it brings
Is one more moment spent with you
I let the pain
Bring on the rain
If that's the only way
If there's no other way
To be with you again

So let the pain remain forever in my heart
For ev'ry throb it brings
Is one more moment spent with you
I let the pain
Bring on the rain
If that's the only way
(If that's the only way)
If there's no other way
To be with you again

Why does sometimes we cling on to somebody that only gives us pain beyond compare? Why not just leave that person and never look back? Why does sometimes we still long for someone who just hurt us over and over again? Naku sumakit lang ang ulo ko! Kakaloka talaga ang love! Nice thing I removed it from my list! hahaha!

Early Valentine Gift Hunting

>> Thursday, January 15, 2009

The Christmas holidays are now over and the first month of the new year is half way finished. It only means that Valentines is just around the corner. For most single and unattached like me Valentines may seems to be an ordinary day. But for those who have special someone as early as now they are starting to look for valentine gifts .And probably the most popular gift for this occasion are valentine flowers. It has been tested by times that flowers would always bring smile to a woman's face. Roses, tulips, carnations, and others seems to be touching a woman's heart in a very special way. Now you can have them delivered anywhere your loved ones maybe. With just dialing a number over the phone you can tell someone how special she is by sending her a bunch of flowers. I remember last year, flowers are flowing at our office lobby. But for those who want to deviate from the traditional and want something unusual , they can try find other unique gift ideas .How nice if I could also receive gifts and flowers this coming Valentines but unfortunately, cupid's arrow haven't landed on me. I think this year I would still be counting the flowers that would be pouring in our office. Its alright, who knows in time!

Are they having an affair or not?

>> Sunday, October 26, 2008

I was asked, “Pau, are they having an affair?!” I was surprised and I also got myself thinking, do they really have an affair?

How to tell if they are really having an affair? Actually I believe that if our co-workers are having affairs, if it is not messing with their work and if we are not the HR and we are not being affected it’s none of our business. But naturally, we can’t help but talk about it. They say that a workplace is the number one breeding ground for illicit affairs. I agree with that because you and your co-worker are together for a minimum of eight hours a day, five times a week. Possibly a much longer time that one can spend compared to the time one could have for his or her partner. And in most cases the longer time we spend with someone the much more possibility that we fell for that someone, because certainly you’ll see more of that person, talk with that person, eat with that person etc. etc.

Going back to my question, how to tell if they are having an affair? I’m talking based on personal experiences and observations from all the previous company that I worked for and also my current company. It would all start with suspicions, we feel something different in them, the way they talk with each other, the way they approach each other and even in the way that they look at each other but mind you, your first suspicions would not always be the right pair, in some point you’ll be surprised to found out that you matched the wrong pair. Those having illicit work place affairs would try their very best to conceal their relationship basically because of consequences that they might face if it would come out. They may be charge with administrative cases such as immorality and others. They would be discreet in showing their affection and care for each other. But for an observable eye, no matter how discreet they are, you could still see it. Try to observe the way that they hand an item, try to catch their eyes. The affection, no matter how hard they conceal it, their eyes would always speak of it. Another to look for is the best buddy. They would keep it from everyone but there would always be a secret keeper in the company, the one that would be their accomplice. I have been a secret keeper before and to tell you, it is not an easy job, aside from your conscience always bugging you, you would also feel the burden of the relationship although you’re not the one directly involved with it. Usually this is the person that one may use as reason or alibi. The secret keeper could be his best buddy or her best friend, but don’t limit it to them, it could be anyone, but in most cases it is them. These persons can also be used to transmit messages if communicating is not possible. Another thing is, you could see them in your work place’s unexpected areas at unexpected hours. These are mostly areas where people seldom go. This could be a seldom used conference room, remote work area or even the backyard garden.

Before I really don’t believe in this, but when I saw the real thing, I realized it really exists. In my years of working in companies, I have proved that some of my observations are wrong, but most of the time it is right, some even admit it.

I almost forgot observation may vary if it involves both of your friends or if your feeling is messing with your objectivity. Now I’m really torn in believing in my observations or not. My heart hopes it is not but my mind says it’s the other way around.

Sentiments... Sentiments... Hahaha!

>> Thursday, October 2, 2008

Being single and unattached is something that I never complained about. I always look at the brighter side of it and it seems that I am very much contented about being one.

They say that if you're single you have a lot of time for many things. Yup I can work till midnight, which I usually do. I can discover new hobbies and interest. I can extend hours on things that I love to do. They also say that you have plenty of time for a lot of people. I've always be the first one to be picked to run errands for my family and friends, which I love, I don't complain :). I always make sure that I am on call every time my friends need me for some serious and not so serious talks. They can always count on me for some emergency malling and drinking sessions. I make time to post comments and messages for my blogger friends. I know I wouldn't be able to do these things if I am not single.

But just like anything else, there is always a disadvantage. Now that I am aging (very harsh!) I'm beginning to realize the "agony" of being single. Most of my friends are married if not are on serious relationships. I can't tug them on emergency malling or drinking sessions because they have family or partners to consider and prioritize which I very much understand. I know they want to go with me but I also know that they have to think of their own families and partners.

Just like here at the office, I'm the only one single and unattached (except for the MB Kuya Rustan who keep his girls from us). I'm usually left alone after office hours.

Here are samples of our lines every 5:45 pm:

Hahaha! I really don't mind working alone, but sometimes it is sad to be alone. Good thing there are some spirits wandering around the office hahaha!

I accept the fact that some people are meant to spend their life without someone. And I also accept the fact that I may spent my life without someone. I am happy being single and I thank my family and friends for being there when I need them. I'm grateful to my friends' partner/spouse who understand every time I would ask some bonding time with their partner/spouse's (most specially to Pareng Amiel, Jay, Kuya Ayie and Kuya Lito).

But at the end of the day, when they are all gone I must admit there is still an empty space that only a special someone can fill. But having nobody is much better than having somebody who is half yours, half there or doesn't want to be there or is there but suddenly disappears. If that's the case, it's better to be self-supporting!

When is the right time to let go? Naks!

>> Monday, September 22, 2008

I was reading a very old newspaper (I found it when I was cleaning my kuya's closet!) (Yes you heard me right, I was cleaning! CLEANING! a very rare event! LOL!). I found a very interesting article about letting go. It was originally in my Tagalog, I just translated some of the lines. It was a letter coming from a man. I was surprised; I never expected that a man could be that emotional! He was sharing his dilema to the writer of the column. I would just like to share a part of the advice that the writer gave to the letter sender. Here it goes...

“Its time to let go, let go of your feelings. You know deep in your heart, you can’t win that person back because in the first place you never had that person. There is no point in hoping, because from the start it was hopeless. You must have been blinded by the care and affection that existed between you and that person, but you should have known that it was nothing. That person might have done those things to you out of respect or gratitude. Yes it is human nature to expect something to be returned when you give something. But when you give love, you should not expect that the love that you gave would be reciprocated. The more you expect something the bigger the disappointment would be. That person might have loved you but not in the way you want that person to love you.

The longer that feeling stays, the harder it would be to drive it out from your system. I would not say it’s easy, I know it would be so hard on your part, but that is the best for you. Time is a friend; it would help you heal all the wounds that loving that person have caused you. Let go, move on and love again.”

Yeah right! Let go! Move on! (Am I listening to what I said? I hope so! )
