Fun in the Backyard Pool

When the summer sun starts blazing everyone heads for the pool. Here are some fun games kids and families can play in the water while staying cool this summer. Remember: safety first. Children should always have adult supervision and everyone should respect each other's swimming ability.

Marco Polo: The classic swimming pool game. One person is "it" and has to keep their eyes closed and walk around the pool calling out "Marco" and trying to tag anyone else. Everyone else has to reply "Polo" and do their best to not get tagged. The #1 rule - you can't get out of the pool mid-game. Whoever gets tagged is then "it" for the next game.

Mega Whirlpool: This typically works best in a round, above ground pool. Get everyone in the water, in line, by the edge of the pool. Now everyone walk around the pool in a circle. Then jog, then run in a circle... the water will follow and then be spinning. Now hold your breath, tuck your knees and let the water carry you around!

Pirate's Treasure Dive: Each kid (or team of kids) gets an empty plastic bowl or pail and place it on the edge of the pool. To start have the swimmers face away from the water and "The Pirate" (adult) throws the 'treasure' into the pool. It should be items that are safe and will sink - coins, pretty rocks, solid rubber balls, or colorful marbles. When the pirate calls out "Dive Mateys!" the kids scramble to collect as much treasure as they can.

Cannonball Contest: Only good in a pool that's deep enough for diving - best if it has a diving board. This one is pretty simple, and pretty wild. One at a time each person jumps in the pool with your body tucked in a ball - and see who makes the biggest splash!

I once planned on taking short culinary courses when I was still in the Pi, after hearing so many good things about quick crash courses, we realized that maybe it's about time for us to expand, school wise and all. Actually, we were able to read about Florida Beauty School that offers numbers of courses when it comes to beauty and self improvement. Actually, my friend even got confused on what course to take up, until she realized that she wanted to broaden her knowledge when it comes to cooking and baking, well, yes, just like me! So there, we were supposed to inquire and planned of enrolling some time next year, until another life turn around decision was made. That I has to go somewhere else in order to find my greener pasture. So will my friend still pursue our plan? well, I really hope so! but for sure, I will be the one to tell her to do so. It'll be good for her, even she does it alone.

We were surprise to hear the news of our close friend recently experienced road accident, it was one major clash that made their car totally wrecked. Thank goodness none of them riding the said automobile were hurt or injured. It was a blessing in disguise after all, being saved from that experience made everyone thankful for being alive. But for those who experienced this kinds of accidents who sadly didn't make it alive are the ones I really pity, imagine those hit and run victims being flashed on the news, it really breaks my heart when the driver un-soulfully leaves their victims just like that. But for others who are quite lucky because they were just injured or hurt, I wonder if they have insurance to cover up for the experience. missing 'em

I heard that most of my friends back home are frequently going out to see each other, usually on weekends, and really, it makes me jealous, knowing that I can't join them every time.
But the truth here is that I need to earn and save so that I can have the things that I dream ever since. And hopefully, after some years, I'd be able to do all of that (read: own a house, where my friends can come over every week, I'm thinking of getting inspirations from Tamarindo Real Estate or something). And there, until then, we'd be able to come and have great talks over coffee and cakes! Oh well, I miss my friends. That's the bottom line.

My cousin start her clinical practicum this coming next semester, and she is actually studying and memorizing stuffs that can be found in the hospital. Funny because she even has all those medical supplies in their dining table when I arrived at their house earlier today, I actually got intruiged with the items that also made me realize that there were actually more than ten in the group that I don't actually know the name and the use for. One example are those tapes or wires or something. I thought that it was just patch or something, but no it was meant for those machine tests and all that is being attached to a wire or whatever it is called. But I'd probably more surprise if she brings home medical supplies! lol So where did my cousin got all her stuff? She actually ordered all of it online! yes, she does. I finally get rid of my mom's clutter in the kitchen area. My mom loves to keep everything. She keeps empty containers until they pile up the cabinets. She keeps dress and shirts even if it does not fit anymore. There was really a time that I want to submit a video of the house to the show “How clean is your house?” My mom cleans her house everyday but because of her clutter, the house looked over crowded. Her house looked as if it is not cleaned very often. I even see the print out of the research that I did on Cosmetology school in Arizona. I wonder why she still keeps those; does she have a plan of going to a cosmetology school? I doubt it! When she asked me to clean the kitchen pantry and cabinet last time, I did throw away everything that had to go. I was bit surprise some interesting things that she kept. Now I know why my father is annoyed every time he would see my mother’s pile of clutter. She freaked out at first but she can’t do anything I already gave away and throw her clutter. I know my father approved of what I did so he can have a space too in the kitchen cabinet to put his tools. But our victory is just temporary because knowing my mom, she would collect clutter again. And without me around she would have enough time to keep those.

I was tagged by the Amiable Amy a couple of days ago, but I'm just posting it now. I'm sorry dear :)

The RULES: People who get tagged need to write a blog post of 6 weird things about them as well as state this rule clearly. In the end, you need to choose 6 or more people you know to be tagged and list their names. 1. I don't like hot coffee. I usually drink iced-coffee.


2. I sleep in a free fall position. Laying in my front with my face facing on one side and hands around the pillow.


3. I don't drink wine :) I go for anything except wine.


4. I am a nocturnal person. I do more at night than in morning. I find it hard to sleep earlier than 1:00 am. I don't do overtime in the morning (except when necessary) but I can stay at the office up to 10:00pm or later.


5. I love hugging :) It cheers me up when I'm sad. It gives me comfort during down times. When I feel down I usually ask a friend to hug me.


6. Im hopeless romantic :) but I just don't admit it too often :)
