I NEED FRIENDS

>> Thursday, August 28, 2008

Thanks Kathy :)

We need friends for many reasons,
all throughout the season.
We need friends to comfort us
when we are sad,
and to have fun with us when we are glad.

We need friends to give us good advice,
We need someone we can count on,
and treat us nice.

We need friends to remember us
one we have passed
sharing memories that will always last.

Spread the poem of friendship.

Cute Little "Kulit"

>> Wednesday, August 20, 2008

One evening, the very "makulit" Brent was singing some songs. His mom and I can't help but laugh. I was surprised how he grows up so fast. He still can't talk straight, he is still "bulol" but still he tries to pronounce the words (the only clear words that you could hear is watermelon, papaya and fruit salad).

As I listen to him, I realized that he is indeed starting to grow. From the 33 weeks pre-matured baby that I patiently look after at the Neonatal ICU of UERM to a very hyper toddler (I was the one who looked after him because his mom is still recuperating from cesarean operation) . It seems like it was just yesterday that he was still this fragile baby that spent his first 31 days at the ICU and have to undergo several blood transfusions (his platelet count reached the lowest count of 10,000) and a blood exchange procedure (his blood is severely infected so they decided to do this procedure). He was an ABO Baby (His mom is type-O, his dad is type AB) that has severe sepsis when he was delivered via emergency CS. My kuya and his wife waited for this baby for 11 years.

But now he is very "makulit", very sweet and lovable. Everyone in the family adores him. Although sometimes he have terrible tantrums, but still tolerable :)

Flower of August

I have this "granny" (my father's godmother) in Silang, Cavite. She had this very beautiful garden with different ornamental plants. She was the one who gave me this Cattleya. When she first gave me this, it just fits one small pot. But as time passes by, it has multiplied a lot. I already transferred the plants to a long vertical wood and I even gave some to my boss.

What's nice about this orchid is that it produces it's flowers every August which happens to be our Fiesta month. So all our visitors would always noticed the flowers. It seems like the plant wanted to be noticed (mayabang na orchid!). But the side effect of being noticeable is that people would always asked us if they can have it! (hahaha!). Good thing it multiplies quickly so I never refuse their request!

KP Creations

This is long due post. Last last Friday Kath and I made 150 cupcakes for Marchelle and Riel's wedding. They choose chocolate cupcakes topped with emerald green and sun yellow icing and sugar calla lilies as toppers. It's our first time to use the box type packaging for the cupcakes. Before we are using the dome type packaging, but later we realized that the box type packaging is more elegant and the cupcakes are on a more stable place.

According to our critic Amiel (Kathy's hubby), these were the best of all the cupcakes that we did! hahaha! The following Monday, Marchelle sent a message thanking us for making their wedding extra special because of the cupcakes. With those words and thanks we became more inspired to create more. Hope we could get more orders in the future! hahhaha!

Nice Movie

>> Sunday, August 10, 2008

I really avoid watching love story movies, I go for suspense and comedy flicks. But yesterday I got to watch a nice one. Due to the recommendation of my good friend Kathy and my "ninang" Ate Dhel and the invitation of Mr. & Mrs. Yee I watched "A Very Special Love" yesterday.

The story is nice, no main antagonist, no third party, very light, heart warming, superb comedy. The acting of the main characters is very natural, it seems like they were not acting. The role fits Sarah the best, I can't think of someone who can portray the role of Laida than Sarah. John Loyd is one hell of a debonair! The way he looks, will surely sweep a woman off her feet!

For those who want a feel-good movie, check this one. You'll never get tired of loving someone, especially when that someone would look at you like how John Lloyd used to do in the movie! Lol!
